So everything was fine and dandy with my dell xps m1710 for the last week since I got it. But...2 days ago, I find out that whenever I push the " key, the one next to the enter button, there's this strange lag. It sometimes won't register at all or will often require a couple of taps before showing up. So I call up XPS support..which was suprisingly easy and efficient and I got myself a replacement keyboard the next day (amazingly fast shipping). So here I took out my screw driver and performed my first transplant surgery (kind of scary) with the keyboard. Unfortunately it didn't solve the problem and I found out that my tilde key (~) key also has the same problem. The tech support guy asked me to go to "accessbility options" in the control panel in classic view but that didn''t show up for some reason. We switched to category view and saw it but then when I tried to access the options, it said that my accessbility wizard has been uninstalled?? I don't quite understand this, I didn't uninstall it, I haven't done a reformat/reinstall of anything to do with windows, except for IE beta 7 (which was not very optimized btw). Is there a program or a virus/trojan that might give me those symptoms? It's obviously not the keyboard since I just changed it but it's hard to fathom how a software issue can affect one or two keys...

I guess the next step would be to do an actual reinstall of windows but I'd like to know WHY or WHERE did the problem come from. :(

    Specs: WinXP MCE, 2.0ghz duo core, 1gig ddr2, 60hd 7200rpm, 7900gtx, audigy
