I can't watch videos right now, but could you tell us the model # of the IPS panel?

Howdy. Thanks for making the video, I think a lot of potential Inspiron 7567 buyers like myself have questions about the IPS panel on this computer.

In this video, you are using the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel to adjust the display. Does that panel control the graphics from the CPU or the GTX 1050Ti? Wouldn't the Nvidia Control Panel be used for the 1050Ti? I see you have a Toshiba m.2 SSD. I wonder if that's standard or depends what Dell has on the truck this week?

I chatted with Dell, the agent told me the Inspiron 7567 panel has a 70% sRGB and brightness of 300 nits. Not spectacular, but not terrible either. No panel model number. I'll contact Dell again to see if I can get corroborating and/or additional information.

This review of the Inspiron 7567 claims the IPS panel has a 65% sRGB, he doesn't say where that information came from.

I would sure like to know which IPS panel comes on the Inspiron 7567 and if it would be standard equipment or Dell would change suppliers every month.

    That controls the iGPU.

    Yes

Indeed, the drive you get depends entirely on what Dell has in stock when and where they manufacture your laptop. Mine came with a SanDisk X400.

Dell tends to ship with two different panels, one from AUO and one from LG.

    LG: LP156WF6-SPK1
    67% sRGB
    49% NTSC
    51% AdobeRGB
    300 nits

The other is the AUO B156HAN01.x
It's specs are similar, but I don't have them handy at the moment.

The model number of the panel in my Dell is above. It's the LGD053F. Also did this followup video with a couple of upgrades I did, plus thermals, gameplay, etc.

It's a nice laptop overall, but I don't like the shallow keyboard and loud fans.

I don't disagree with the keyboard feel, but haven't had any real fan issues. Biggest problem for me was trying to adapt to the screen. Not my favorite IPS panel I've dealt with. But, at $899, still think it's a great value for those whose budget is limited.

I guess it depends on what you're used to. The fans reach well over 50 dB(A) under load, which is very loud. However, if you've always had loud laptops, I guess it will be "normal" for you. I'm used to quiet laptops, so this is very loud for me.

Completely agree. Screen quality is same issue for me. I've done a lot of work on Apple Retina screens and coming back to a lower-end IPS panel like the one on this Dell is a bit of a shock. Not a bad screen by itself. But, compared to what I'm used to, not stellar.

I've also ordered the top-end model with the UHD, should be arriving this week. I'll then compare that panel to the default FHD IPS, see how they stack up.

My son just got this laptop and we have been trying unsuccessfully to use an Oculus Rift with it. Basically the OR starts playing video normally and then within a minute or two the video starts cutting out, and then finally the screen goes black. The sound and touch sensors continue to work normally as does the video on the laptop, it is only the video in the headset that drops out. This is our second OR unit so mostly likely not an OR issue.

We have trouble shot everything, disabled power savings, flipped everything to run off the 1050ti chip, all with no luck. Is this laptop capable of displaying the OR properly, and if so are there specific settings that we need to use to accomplish this? Thanks

According to the Oculus Rift website, your setup should work. Minimum has been lowered to GTX 960. For laptops, I thought that the 1060 was considered minimum for VR, but the 1050ti should be close. https://www.octopusrift.com/pc-for-the-oculus-rift/

    Thanks for the reply.

Flipped the USB cable for the headset over to the left side and was able to get about 3 minutes of google earth vr before it glitched and went black.

Spoke with MS tech support who claimed any 1050 card should work fine, while Dells tech support said the 1050ti will not work properly. They then directed me to Nvidea website which shows all of the VR Ready cards. The 1050ti is not listed, you need the 1060 on up.

Every setting on the dell is set up for max gaming performance, so running out options here. May try to contact Nvidea directly to hear their view.

Seems clear something on the dell is maxing out and shutting the video down, just don't know if it's the 1050ti or the USB inputs.

Is there anything running in the background on the computer? Anything, including stuff like antivirus, GeForce Experience, monitoring or scheduled tasks, GPU monitoring or management, etc. I have a computer with a graphics card that is on the borderline minimum spec for a particular game. If any other program is open, the game will crash. I have also found that GPU software like MSI Afterburner will cause games to stutter or run poorly when at minimum specs. Check Task Manager and see what's running.

Thanks for the heads up. I've never messed with overclocking panels, but appreciate the info.
