According to a particular person called Jayson (check the 500 page thread on this subforum) The studio refresh is next year, Jan-Feb.

Might not be true, but its the best evidence we have.

The 'studio 17' already has got an update, to the ati mobility radeon 3650m, thats it.

Qaz is talking about the update to the studio line of laptops which will happen soonish (i.e new laptops will be released).

Sorry to disappoint you  , but I think the odds of that happening are pretty poor. Dell seems to put a lot of effort into keeping its different lines seperate, with the studio line being the mid-range its highly unlikely they'd put that sort of card into it :( .

No no and no. 95% of graphics cards aren't replaceable (notebooks).

Even if they are MXM, it is an extremely lengthy process and requires lots of knowledge about this sorta thing. Check the NightWalker's c90s upgrade thread for an insight on upgrading the GPU on a MXM laptop, it is very hard.

My friend is going to try and upgrade my laptop's GPU to a 9800M GS or 9700M GTS next year in America, lets wait and see if it works.

The Studio line is meant to be lower midrange so the graphics cards available to it won't be the latest and greatest. The Studio XPS whenever it decides to show up will have the better offerings.
