I have a dell inspiron E1505 with a recently upgraded CPU. NOw that I have more memory and faster CPU, I'm looking to increase in GPU. What can I do to upgrade my cpu, either changing it off the board or adding something to the expansion slot? I currently have a Mobile Intel(R) 945GM/GU/PM/GMS/940GML/943GML and Intel(R) 945GT Express Processor to DRAM Controller. I'm hoping that it will be a fairly easy and cheap upgrade. Thanks for any help. :)

If you have a an IGP E1505, you will have to change the motherboard to upgrade the GPU. Even then, you basically only have the option of an AMD X1300 or X1400. There might be an FX5200 option, too, but don't quote me on that.

EDIT: Conceivably you could try eGPU from the EC slot too.

You could also get the GeForce Go 7300 GT but I would advise against it due to the Nvidia BGA issues, but X1400 is going to be the best GPU for E1505.

Tsunade is right. It is the 7300, not the 5200.

You are currently running on board graphics and have no pci-e video port. It will be impossible to upgrade the video on your laptop without replacing the whole motherboard with one of the ones that does not have on-board graphics.
