    i have a studio 17 and order the Intel Graphics media accelerate. when i checked which card i have it says that i have generic pnp monitor 965 express chipset. is this correct or did i get the wrong card?

    The express chipset is what gives it away that it is integrated graphics.

    At the time of purchase, you can upgrade to a 3650, yes, but not after it's already been built...

    Yeah, after you purchase integrated motherboards are different from dedicated motherboards. The graphics chipset is often times built directly into the board thus it cannot be modified by adding the dedicated cards.
