I have the same issue too-seems to be something with flash...YouTube's support section directs people to an Adobe Flash support page http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb402883

Apparently my Intel X3100 integrated graphics aren't powerful enough to view youtube vids full screen, (I have to wait for Dell to update the drivers...that'll take years) yet it can handle Windows Aero, it was able to view them before the last couple versions of Flash, and my ancient HP Pavilion desktop with "Intel Extreme Graphics" from the late 90's can view full screen flash just fine.

I, too, have the same issue on my Acer with the x3100. A driver update *should* fix it, but God only knows when thats gonna happen. It's not a big deal tho, as the flash videos generally look pretty crappy FS.

thanks for your help but i still cant really figure it out. (sorry im alittle computer illiterate at these kinds of things) for 1, the video card manufacturer site i found (which btw is the same as yours, the intel x3100 intregrated one) was in a different language and 2 i tried downloading and installing the directx9 thing and that didnt work. Could you give me some sort of step by step of what to do or do we have to wait for a driver update?

the x3100 is actually quite powerful, should be able to do just that

    its either
    a) graphics card problem
    b) Flash problem, update(or downgrade) as seen

ok i got it! i went to yahoo answers and heres what i read to do...

    1. Right-click in the standard youtube video window (non-full
    screen).
    2. Choose 'Settings...' from the Flash Player's pop-up menu.
    3. Uncheck the 'Enable Hardware Acceleration'
    4. Click 'Close'.

and now i can full screen :) hope this helps you guys too.

Right, which is bypassing the video card processing and offloading it onto the OS and CPU. There is definitely something amiss with the x3100's video processing.

Awesome! it worked. I wonder why YouTube simply wouldn't suggest this since the X3100 is a pretty popular IGP. Oh Well... :)

    Thanks!
