I am just telling my story so that Canadians can try to get 64 bit Vista if they so wish. I phoned up today and (with any luck) a Vista 64 bit Premium disc is one its way to me. Mind you, it was quite the job getting it. First the guy spent about 20 minutes (no kidding) trying to acertain if the 1330 could support 64 bit (keep in mind this is a tech support guy). I told him that the support website for the laptop had 64 bit drivers and directed him to the 64 bit 1330 driver support thread in this forum. He finally said that he saw that this laptop had a 64 bit processor and thus could take the os. At this point I don't know whether to laugh or cry. A tech person who had to look up the processor when it has been how long since we have had 64 bit processors (both intel and amd)? The mind boggles. Then he tried to sell it to me. I was polite but firm saying that I had not been told it would cost anything and that I had already paid for the os. He finally said he would ship it to me free. Long story short, in Canada you can get 64 bit os in any Vista flavour, it seems (hopefully it will arrive; have had things promised which did not end up being shipped out). I know in the US only business customers with Vista Ultimate or Business can get the 64 bit version but apparently you can get any Vista in 64 bit from any section in Canada, just talk to tech support and be prepared to stand your ground, lol!
