    Hello everyone,

For some time now (a couple months), on my 1520, Vista Backup and Restore Center does not show a progress bar when starting a full backup for the first time in a sequence. I connect my external drive, fire up Vista BRC and hit Change Settings in order to do a full backup. Then I go through everything and hit the Complete Settings and start a full backup now and that window closes, but no progress bar shows up to show that it's backing up files. I have let it do it's thing, but then it only backs up a little and just stops. So then I have to unplug my USB drive in the middle of the first backup, quit BRC using task manager and go in and redo the steps. But then it thinks that this is my first backup. However, it backups fine at this stage. Is anyone else getting something like this? I'd like it to do it correctly on the first try. I don't quite remember when it started happening so recent software changes are out. I have not upgraded any hardware. Does it have to do with SP1? Does anyone know how to fix it?

    Thanks.

I dont know about your problem.. may be you could try to reformat to NTFS / run an error check on the external hard disk...

Also, I guess this issue might be better answered in the Windows OS forum :) Mods, please?

Ok thanks. I don't think there's a hard disk error with my external drive, and if there was I don't think it would cause the progress bar not to show up. Does anyone else have any suggestions?
