    I have a Dell Inspiron 6400

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.16 GHz
    1 GB Ram
    60 GB 5400 RPM HDD
    256 ATI x1400
    Intel PRO/Wireless 3945

How well would Vista perform on my system based on these specs?

I'm seriously debating on whether to get it or not.

I have the same dell model but your parts are better then mine. I am running vista business and it runs very smooth. It runs smooth on mine and I only have a 1.83 C2D, integrated graphics, 1 GB, and 80 GB HD. Sometimes I feel like I could use more ram but that can be upgraded later on so your setup is perfectly fine.

I have been running Vista Ultimate on my laptop found in my signature for about 1.5 months. I am quite happy with performance.
