Please, anyone (I know there are tons of you out there), has Dell begun to ship Vista SP1 on their Inspiron line yet? Best Buy has the new 1525's with SP1 pre-loaded. Does this mean the CTO Inspirons have SP1 now? PLEASE HELP!

I know I can download it, BUT it is more conveinent to have it pre-loaded already with the SP1 disc. Less hassel.

I think they're supposed to be. I'm getting my Vostro 1700 tomorrow. I'll let you know for sure.

I'm surprised that so many people own Dell Inspiron laptops and they don't know...

Grrr... . Okay, so Dell has to be the most uninformed company in the Universe. Seven different chat sessions later, I get half that say the Vista SP1 is pre-installed, while the other half says it isn't. I asked them do they know when it would be pre-installed, "May or June", and then they say that it is pre-installed but they couldn't answer my question as to what date they started shipping CTO laptops with SP1 on the Dell Inspirons.

I don't know anymore if I should even trust Dell. Everyone seems to be having problems with the Dell logos fallling off their notebooks, the power adapter port stops working after a year, grainy screens, poor components. This all sounds worse than a real life horror story!

I would like to get the Dell Inspiron 1525 but should I trust Dell when all is said and done with so many problems people are reporting? People say HP is worse than Dell, how so? It seems just the opposite.

On top of that, the configuration page for the Dell Inspiron 1525 shows the option for 4GB of RAM, Windows Vista 32 bit only supports up to 3GB of RAM, right? What would be the point in having 4GB of RAM if 1GB doesn't work in the 32 bit OS on top of the 1525 only having an Intel integrated X3100 graphics media accelerator?
