The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    I know that on my desktop it made a big improvement. Everything from opening Google Earth, to Itunes, to Safari (hehe) to games to random documents, went a lot faster...A LOT faster actually.

    Also, my fan on my desktop started working after the update =P Hasn't worked for over a year.

    Are you just too lazy to type in microsoft.com and then search for Vista SP1?

    If you have installed other language packs (except for English (US), French, German, Japanese, or Traditional Spanish), you need to remove the language pack before running the update.
