    Vista SP1 installation error on XPS1530m

    Since I am on a university line I cannot use Automatic Updates as they're disabled.
    I have been trying to install SP1, but after reading that there is some issue with the sound and upek drivers, I reinstalled vista according to the reformat bloatware removal guide.
    I still get the same error as shown. What would be the solution?

    I would try the resolutions on the Microsoft site. They sound like good ideas.

    the UPEK drivers must be downloaded and installed, then you can apply the standalone SP1 patch...

    If your Windows update would be working, after installing the UPEK drivers, it would automatically download and install SP1...
