    I purchased a Studio 17 with Vista Premium 64. I need Ultimate.

If I get the Ultimate 64 upgrade CD, will this process be fairly painless? That is, without reinstalling drivers and my other software?

Since you're going from 64-bit to 64-bit, then yes, everything should carry over just fine.

Personally, I would reformat and reinstall from scratch anyway, but I do that relatively often anyway. You should have no problem doing the upgrade option. Your software and drivers should all be intact.
