Does anyone know if the Dell Vista Upgrade DVD will be the same as the ones in retail or will it be a Dell branded DVD? The reason I ask is that I want to buy the upgrade now and use the Dell disk to upgrade my Sony SZ. I will have to buy the upgrade for my SZ anyway, I would prefer to upgrade my E1705 first.

You cant use the Dell DVD to upgrade a non Dell PC the key is locked to Dell's and more likely your type of laptop.

As for them been the same i can see it been a Dell own one with all the crap software tbh. Anyone got one yet ?

It can be done, just not easily & legally. All the info you need is available, but we don't discuss such things here.

I wouldnt try it, the dell upgrade is for your dell system only, and I believe the activation key is directly linked to your XP COA, upgrade the sony and wait for your dell upgrade.
