    Hey guys.

Can anyone give me some info regarding my little issue here.

I have a Dell Inspiron 9400 and i thought it's about time to get rid of the tiny 80GB Hard-drive and bought a Seagate Momentus 7200.3 320Gb.
Unfortunately when i boot the system from the Vista DVD it does not recognises the drive and asks for drivers. I tried to find some on the seagate-page without any success.

so... i'm thankful for any kind of information

If the 9400 uses AHCI and the BIOS is set to use AHCI you'll need to provide the AHCI drivers during set-up loading. Vista can use these drivers on USB key or drive so just add the drivers to a USB device, run set-up and look for instructions to add drivers for SATA and RAID controllers and follow them. I'd guess the drivers you need are the Intel Storage Manager drivers (the driver is for the controller not the drive itself).
