This is my first time buying a laptop and one of the reasons for a laptop is I can take it with me abroad (UK/Dubai/Pakistan/India)..

With Dell laptops, do I just need voltage converters (radioshack) or do I also need adapter?

Just a new cable for the outlet (or one of those things that converts the outlet) -- looking at my adapter 90w adapter, it can do 100-240V @ 50-60Hz.
It should be the same for most laptop adapters.

Ok thanks, I talked with Dell sales rep, I think he had no idea what I was saying - he said I have to buy a new adapter :O

anyone else having an XPS laptop can confirm if I only need the plug and not the adapter.
