Does the 9 cell battery line up properly with the chassis the same as the 6 cell? Or does it make it stand up on edge (does the battery stick out)?

The 9 cell will stick out of the back.

Ok, so it will not cause leverage then.

How much does it stick out, and how much heavier is it?

The size difference between the two is 3/4". So it stick out 3/4" from the back. It is far better than the design of HP Hi-Cap battery that raises tha back of the laptop. The 9-cell is about 1/3 pound heavier.

Not only that. The plastic case is so flexible that it bounce while I was typing on it. Eventually, the motherboard started to have contact problem in a year. Basically, HP's laptops look nice but are not durable at all. Very poor functional design.

I also got both of them. The 2 batteries together still take less space and lower weight the the PA-10 power adapter. ;-)
