I am looking to get a notebook. I been looking at the D531 which I wish they would make an Intel version of with the Core 2 Duo T5XXX CPUs cause I don't need a lot of performance, but I digress. In addition to the D531, I am looking at the Vostro 1400/1500. I've been reading up on the various screens. They seems to be a lot of debate as to the quality of the screens. Is there a general consensus on which of the screens has the best quality? I'd prefer above WXGA and glossy. I think the WXGA+ is probably the best fit, but I could be convinced to go WSXGA+ if the screen quality is better on the 1500. Does anyone know if the WXGA+ screen on the D531 is the same as the one on the 1500? One other question if I may, how are the mouse buttons on the Vostros? I don't like buttons that are noisy or clicky. Thanks for any help.

As far as screen quality, I am of the understanding that you are referring to the screen resolution.
This would be a matter of personal preference. I personally find the 1440 resolution (WXGA+) to be best for me. It offers good resolution without making the fonts and icons too small. It also depends on what you will be doing with it.
The other factor is which manufacturer screen you end up getting in the laptop. There have been problems with the Samsung screens and it is still uncertain whether this has been rectified by Dell. I have an LG after getting the Samsung changed out by Dell. It is an excellent screen.
I do not know what they put in the D531 or how it compares. I am unable to compare the Vostro to the D531, but the Dell business machines that I have used have nearly all been excellent machines.
As far as the mouse (touchpad), mine is very quiet. I actually use a notebook mouse most of the time anyway, but I have no problems with the touchpad. -
There's just a ton of posts here, which I have been reading, on the on the quality of Dell's screens. Some of them are good and some bad, which makes it tough to discern which is the better one in terms of overall quality and leakage. You can't see either in a store which complicates things. As I said I would prefer above WXGA and glossy. That pretty much leaves me with a Dell unless I want an expensive gaming laptop, which I do not. I can get the 1500 for about $550 right now. The D531 configured the same is about 100 more, but supposedly has better quality and a better warranty. I figure the T5270 is about the same as the TL-59 on the D531. I don't need a lot. The reason I asked if the screens were the same is I can figure about the quality of the D531's screen if it is the same as the 1500 and anyone has any input on that issue. Glad to hear about the mouse buttons. Thanks for the replies so far.
