hey guys,
i got my vostro delivered a short while ago. opened it up, everything looked good. screen looks amazing, glad to report that there is no graininess whatsoever. casing is indeed magnesium and hard plastic. lid does attract fingerprints, but that's ok. keyboard is awesome, no flex. touchpad takes a little getting used to for me, but it's great overall. once and a while i will accidentally hit the right mouse button instead of the left because i cant really feel the difference. so far the vostro is running cool and quiet, the fan is silent and the only thing i can barely hear is the air rushing past the thermal vent. i am a little concerned if the fan is going to stay on constantly. overall, i am very impressed. i haven't had a new laptop in over 4 years and i think this vostro is definetly one of the best looking and well built laptops for the price dell sells them at.
i'm currently trying to transfer all my data from my computer, which is taking forever. i tried doing a firewire-firewire network connection, but the vostro diddn't recognize it. in the meantime, i wont leave you hanging any longer...i took some quick pics of the vostro with my old lappy- a latitude c610: 1GHz P3, 512MB RAM, 16MB ATI Radeon M.
enjoy, ill put more up in a few.
