My fan never turns off. Not the exhaust fan on the left side of the laptop that releases air periodically. I don't know where the fan is, but it sounds like its on the top right side of the laptop (when facing the screen), right where the Windows CD-key sticker is. My desktop is at least 5x louder than this (cpu fan running at 3.6k rpm), but for a laptop this is pretty annoying. I just got this laptop a few days ago, so I'm just trying to find any faults with it. I wouldn't be surprised if it's just how the cpu cooler operates. Is the 1400 supposed to run silent? It sounds like a low fan speed or a hum, sort of like a phone on speaker with low volume.

Also, the exhaust fan comes on constantly, even when I'm web browsing. My laptop is on a flat desk with no fan blockage. Should the exhaust fan be coming on this often? It comes on about once every 5 minutes, for about a couple of minutes. Basically, about 1 out of 3 times I place my hand next to the exhaust, hot air is blowing out.
