Hey.. I've been having the same problem and in fact, I am chatting with a dell technical representative about it now! The thing is that I've had my computer serviced twice for this problem. They've replaced my motherboard (which has the sound card attached to it) and the speakers yet despite this, the speakers are very "staticy" and at times the sound cuts out completely! Also, my dell technician who comes to me regularly told me that he has been repairing a lot of vostros for their speaker problems. Sigh. Did you get the factory installed speakers or did you get the upgraded speakers on your laptop?
