    Hi everyone,

I am planning on purchasing the vostro 1400, but I am not sure which LCD display is better.

14.1 inch Wide Screen XGA LCD Display with TrueLife™

    OR

14.1 inch Wide Screen XGA+ LCD Display with TrueLife™

    Truelife basically means glossy right?

    So it's WXGA vs. WXGA+...

I am asking this question because I have heard many rumors and complaints about the vostro line screens, and I would like to know if they encompass both screens, or just one of them.

Also, which one would be better overall?

    Thanks

It depends on what you want to do.

With a larger screen (the XGA+), you have more area to work with if you're in the realm of media design, but with the XGA, you get a lower native resolution which would be easier to hit with a mobile GPU so you can have the best graphical fidelity while playing games, and while watching HD movies without having any scaling artifacts.

I personally went with the XGA screen and it's superb, no graininess or anything--but the viewing angle is less than optimal, to put it "nicely".
