I own a Vostro 1500 and am having two issues with Media Direct:

    1. Sometimes Media Direct takes quite a while to load and once it does, seems to be stuck in a reduced functionality "Media Direct Express" mode. I can tell this has happened since the onscreen label reads "Media Direct Express" and the second level menus (e.g. the menus below the home page after a selection has been made) are on the left. Most importantly, in this "Express" mode, Media Direct can't seem to access external media such as data DVDs and USB flash drives. Has anyone else experienced this? If yes, any resolution?

    2. Having read on these forums that AHCI may improve the performance of the Vostro's SATA drive, I enabled it in BIOS. However, attempting to start Media Direct with the AHCI setting enabled immediately serves up a BSOD. I suspect this due to the fact that the Media Direct partition doesn't contain the correct SATA drivers to enable AHCI, but Media Direct in general is a bit of a black box to me so I can't think of a way to actually load said drivers into it. Has anyone had any luck in making AHCI and Media Direct play nice?

Thanks in advance for any insight.
