    Hi..

I've read a lot of post without finding what I'm searching for..

    2 problem:

    1) When I start my pc the screen is always black until the Windows Logo.
I can't see anything about the boot, I can't see the Dell's logo, the loading bar.. the screen seems to be OFF..
If I use an external monitor I can see all, the Dell's Logo, the boot, and the loading bar of windows..

    Is it right?!?!?!?!?

    2) I don't know why but I can't adjust the brightness of my screen, neither with fn-up fn-down, neither with power management. It worked, maybe I've done something wrong (installing a programm?! a driver?! )..
    I really don't know, I've done nothing..
I've tried updating the Nvidia Video Card, and reinstalling QuickSet.. nope..
In the evening I will try in safe mode, and then to update the bios..

    Thank u!! :)

there is definately something wrong with your computer. Try dell support and see what they say.

Reset the BIOS and do a clean reinstall. If nothing works, time for return and replacement!

Even if you have the same one - give it a try anyway and reflash. That will get you started with ruling factors out.

I am not asking you to flash the BIOS, but reset the configuration settings to its factory defaults. You enter the setup screen by pressing F2 function key at Dell Logo during boot up.

Once done, ensure that the brightness level is set to maximum for both on battery and on power.
