I have decided to buy the Vostro 1500 but cannot decide between the Wide Screen WXGA+ (1440x900) display with TrueLifeTM or the Wide Screen WXGA (1280x800) display with TrueLifeTM .

I will be using the notebook for internet browsing/email/stock trading/writing reports.

    Any advice is appreciated.

I always find higher resolutions better for web browsing and the like - having large page content on your screen, etc. etc.. So go for the higher res screen! :) Unless you have problems viewing tiny text, a greater resolution should always be better for you! :)

That's pretty much the general gist of it. Also, ou can lower the resolution on a higher-resolution screen, but you can't raise the resolution on a lower-resolution screen; so high-res screen will give you flexibility than a low-res screen even if you don't use the native resolution.

Wow 10 posts in 3 years  Where ya been man?

I went for the 1440x screen as I just had the same dilemna. The text seemed small at first but you get used to it and then the old laptop starts to look like a kiddie toy. You'll appreciate the extra screen space once you get used to it.
