So I'm configuring a Vostro 1500 over the past couple days and while yesterday I could have sworn there were only two display options, ie Matte or Glossy(TrueLife), today there are four:
1. WXGA
2. WXGA with TrueLife
3. WXGA+ with TrueLife (+$50)
4 WSXGA+ with TrueLife (+$100)
Can anyone confirm what the native resolutions on these options are for sure?
From what I can tell from wikipedia's display resolution charts:
1. WXGA could be anything from 1280x720 to 1366x768
2. WXGA+ could be 1440x900 or 1600x1024
3. WSXGA+ could be 1680x1050
My current laptop is an older Compaq w/ a 14" WXGA resolution of 1280x720 and I was comfortable w/ reading text at that resolution. Is anyone able to comment on their preference for native resolution on a 15.4" widescreen? Is text legibility an issue at 1680x1050? I'm also wondering if this mean a whole new set of lcd suppliers and how that may relate to the backlight bleeding issue.
