I only bought an 80 GB hard drive with my Vostro, so I am thinking about upgrading it to something larger and faster. What interface does the Vostro line use? If I bought a SATA drive, it would work, right? Also, what is the difference between SATA and Ultra ATA? Thanks :)

Also, anybody have good suggestions for a 120-160 GB 7200 RPM drive that is around $110 or less?

Vostros use SATA. SATA is serial ATA which is a completely different interface than IDE or PATA which is parallel ATA. Ultra ATA was a term used for some forms of ATA. See here for lots of details.

I was able to snare a relatively cheap 200 Gb 7200 rpm drive as described here.

    Serial ATA or SATA

    Yes.

SATA has serial interface, Ultra ATA has parallel interface.

Any hard drive will do. Lookout for deals/coupons to buy within your budget.
