Just followed the XP guide and stuck it on alongside Vista. Anyhow the broadcom ethernet drivers seem to install but I get a yellow exclamation mark in device manager next to it saying "This device cannot start. (Code 10)". Same thing next to OCHI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller.

Thought I would go into Vista and check the driver name in there, but realised I also have the same exclamation marks in Vista and the ethernet doesnt work. Thing is, I've definitely used the ethernet once before so I'm not sure if its randomly just broken or what? Ive only had the laptop 6 days!

Have tried the broadcom drivers from the dell website as well as the broadcom site itself.

    Any recommendations? Cheers

Well just in case anyone else gets this, I fixed it by typing "
netsh winsock reset catalog" into cmd prompt, because the autoconfig IP address was setup incorrectly (cheers google!).
