I had a question I was hoping someone could answer.

My Vostro 1500 came with the Intel Core 2 Duo T5470, which has an 800 MHz FSB.
According to the Dell manual, the RAM in the 1500 is 667-MHz SoDIMM DDR2.

Is there a reason why the memory speed is slower than the FSB speed? I'm not big on technical specs like this, but I was told they should be the same for optimal performance. Is it possible to use 800 MHz RAM (PC2 6400) in this laptop?

Also, anyone find any good deals on 2GB (2x1GB) RAM kits?

Santa Rosa doesnt fully support DDR2-800(PC2-6400), so if you put the 800mhz ram in your laptop it will downclock to 667mhz so it will be cheaper to get a DDR2-667.

Look at the Hot ram deals thread for great prices on ram.
