Hey there
I just ordered a Vostro 1500 with the following specs:
truelife WXGA+ with 2mp camera
T7300 CPU
2gb ram
160 5400rpm hdd
8600m gt
9-cell battery
1 y base warranty
wireless-N
bluetooth module
vista premium
mouse
total: 699£ including VAT and delivery
I tried bartering with the sales rep but he told me that it was impossible to get any discounts for this model since it was already extremely cheap for the UK. Should I just order from someone else? Any advice? Thanks![]()

Yeah its a good deal, although you do realise home premium is a downgrade from business which it comes with by default.

Good deal but you need to know that no other laptop in the UK comes close to that grainy screen.

Ill reply to your PM in here instead, first off the deal you got seems ok in the first place but i did it quickly and seems your only saving £20-£40 had to guess the mouse so went cheapest, if thats so you could certainly get a beter deal atleast a better deal is there for oyu to get.
With me i got £150 ish in total thro batering, It took me a few times to get through to a rep who would be willing to budge so it started of with one rep who gave me the deal of t7300, 1 year warranty, wxga+ screen for £700 which was a little saving but i pushed for a free carrying case which he put in.
I than rang up another sales rep after recieving the quote and now she was a gem, i asked if there was anything she could do to improve my offer she said very little but i than asked her to take the 'free' carry case off and remove £25 it cost, i than asked for a processor upgrade which cost £50 but i said that was to much and managed to talk her down to £700 again. I also said i was worried about the warranty that it might not be enought but i oculdnt afford to upgrade it, she than came back with a good deal for 2 year warrnaty at like £30 extra so i was at £330, im a student so £700 was my top budget although i have enought money to go higher im also saving up for a carso i insisted that £700 was my max budget in about 5 mins of working her down from £730 taking off £5 here and there got down to £701.56 which was a great deal but still pushed for the last £1.56 which she finall conceeded was the hardest £1.56 to get off ever
Woah thats a bit messed up i hope its readable. A tip that i learnt after my deal was not to give the quote off another sales rep to a new one straight away because they arent allowed to udnercut atleast not supposed to. This does seem to work and resulted in me getting £50 compensation but thats another story.
Just look around a find a nice friend sales rep and go for a deal that your happy with, dont compare to someone else because someone is always going get more off someway.
