    Vostro 1500 Video Lockup Freeze Help

    brand new New Vostro 1500
    opening a RAW file in Photoshop CS3 sends the machine into a frenzy.
    the screen doesn't go black but think of a locked-out cable TV channel during late night channel-surfing.
    the only fix is a hardboot by holding down the power button. no visible activity through the "color fuzz" when using mouse/keyboard shortcuts to start menu or otherwise. OS is Vista Basic 32-bit.

    all adobe updates downloaded and rebooted, still does it. WTF is up?

    i removed all bloatware upon first boot but nothing regarding the graphics drivers/software.

    any ideas? should we just return it?

    Doesnt sound to be a hardware problem but a software problem. Since you paid tons of money for Photoshop CS3 they provide very good support. You should give them a chat and see for a possible fix.
