Am I right in thinking that the LG part no for the above is XK309?

If so does anyone know the Hardware ID this gives in Device manager?

Reason I ask is that today I am having my WXGA+ replaced with a WXSGA+ screen free of charge due to grain problem.

I have requested the LG screen but we will wait and see.

I am UK based if that makes any difference.

    Thanks for your help

Ok, so the Dell guy has just been. Just my luck he did not have the LG screen but a SEC3350 (Samsung) WSXGA+.

Well, to be honest it is probably worse than before now. The engineer was helpful and has spoke to Dell on my behalf about the issue.

The only way I will be satisfied now is to get the LG WSXGA+ screen fitted. After reading things on here about it I am pretty confident that this will sort it.

If not I need to decide whether to live with it or get a refund. Until I have tried the LG though I cannot make this decision.

Why should I settle for second best when others have the same laptop with a much better screen?

    Very poor this from Dell.

You should be reading this thread ukclaret. Would have saved you the time of making this thread and waiting for answers :)

If you look at one of the posts on page 20 you'll see that Lidrager is the latest person to get their screen replaced with an LG.

Yeh I was lucky and got mine with the LG screen and it is perfect. Would definetly get them to replace it again.
