Am I right in thinking that the LG part no for the above is XK309?
If so does anyone know the Hardware ID this gives in Device manager?
Reason I ask is that today I am having my WXGA+ replaced with a WXSGA+ screen free of charge due to grain problem.
I have requested the LG screen but we will wait and see.
I am UK based if that makes any difference.
Thanks for your help

yeh I am in the UK and have an XK309 screen which PC Wizard 2007 ( http://www.cpuid.com/pcwizard.php) says is an LPLF300 so an LG one.
hope this helps.

OK, thanks for that mate.
Hopefully that is what the technician guy will bring, fingers crossed. -
Ok, so the Dell guy has just been. Just my luck he did not have the LG screen but a SEC3350 (Samsung) WSXGA+.
Well, to be honest it is probably worse than before now. The engineer was helpful and has spoke to Dell on my behalf about the issue.
The only way I will be satisfied now is to get the LG WSXGA+ screen fitted. After reading things on here about it I am pretty confident that this will sort it.
If not I need to decide whether to live with it or get a refund. Until I have tried the LG though I cannot make this decision.
Why should I settle for second best when others have the same laptop with a much better screen?
Very poor this from Dell. -

You should be reading this thread ukclaret. Would have saved you the time of making this thread and waiting for answers
If you look at one of the posts on page 20 you'll see that Lidrager is the latest person to get their screen replaced with an LG. -
Yeh I was lucky and got mine with the LG screen and it is perfect. Would definetly get them to replace it again.
