Up until today my vostro would quickly hibernate when manually instructed.
However it won't work anymore. The option is checked and I have easily enough free disk space to allow it.
When i press the shortcut volume buttons on the front of the laptop it used to show the volume go up or down on the screen.
I think this stopped being shown on the screen at the same time the laptop wont hibernate.
Anyone got any ideas??

Update your drivers...especially the hotkey driver.

If nothing works, do a fresh install!

Any idea why my volume and brightness are no longer being shown in the bottom right corner of the screen when i adjust them? -
Go to Dell's support page and type in your service tag. Your hotkey driver should restore the OSD for the volume and brightness controls, too.

Thanks in advance -
I had a similar issue recovering from hibernate.... I reinstalled the video driver from the dell driver disc. All was fixed and still is. That issue was a month ago now. So I would reinstall the video driver.

The volume/brightness displays are part of the Dell Quickset utility (I think this is the hotkey utility that is being referred to)
