Ive not used the cd-drive for burning cd's much untill now, the first time i tried to make a normal audio disc using nero it gets to about 10% then says "could not perform end of disk at once or track at once" depending on which method i chose. It only works if i change the write speed down to 10x and even then very ocasionally. Anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it? should i get dell to give me a new cd-drive?

I have the same issue as DeusEx. Sometimes it pops out on its own, isn't a very good dvd reader either.

hm i dont have the random popping out problem, just the fact it refuses to write to cd's at anything more than 10x which is really really slow. I think i will have to contact dell concerning this matter. They should be able to just replace the drive without me having to send the whole laptop away.

I too am having the same problem with my CD tray just opening by itself. Please let me know what you have done about it; call Dell Tech Support, possible software issue, etc.
I too am running Vista Ultimate - but could that be the cause, as my 'copy' is just that.. ;)
