    hi,

    i got a Vostro 1500 with a matte panel: LPL0201.

When i dim the brightness the panel (or some other componenten nearby, can't really tell) is starting to make a faint high-pitched noise. That noise changes frequency depending on the level of brightness. On full brightness the noise is gone.

Now i was wondering if other Vostro owners experience anything like that (search didnt turn up anything) or if something is faulty with my unit. It's not the C2D whine, i got rid of that with RMClock.

I am a bit scared of calling Dell and getting a replacement, since i wouldn't really like to join their panel manufacturer roulette.

    thanks!

Here i added a little mp3, trying to capture the noise with the onboard microphone.

i dimmed the brightness every 5 seconds, it starts out 5 seconds at full brightness with no noise.
