    Vostro 1500 lcd screen buzzing- is it normal ?

    Been a while since i noticed this faint buzzing noise when the screen is not at full brightness, sent a mail to customer service and got back a mail saying that its normal.... But the noise is so damn annoying...

    Just wanted to know whether the buzzing is normal or otherwise?

    By the way, the screen is wxga, glossy, 15.4 inch.

    Likely it is the screen power supply and a hum is not uncommon. Some would never hear but others are more sensitive.

    My Vostro 1500 has a 15.4'' 1280x800 screen and I don't have that problem. I don't think it is related to the size of the screen.

    I notice the buzz when I play games on battery power, when I don't play or play with the AC it stops

    I had a old dell that the screen buzzed then one day the screen just died after about 2 years. I suggest you call them and ask them for a replacment
