I just purchased my 1500, but I still like checking out the Dell deals. Today, I noticed that Dell now offers the T7250 and the T5270 cpus for the Vostro 1500.
EDIT: It appears that Dell has changed the base CPU of the Vostro 1500 from the 1.6 T5470 to the 1.4 T5270!! What's even worse is that their advertisements still show the T5470 as being included when in reality it is a $50 upgrade. Go to Dell SB and click thru to their $699 Vostro 1500 deal and note the processor included.
The new T7250 is exactly the same $130 upgrade as is the T7100.
Are these "newer" processors that will soon make the 7x00 series obsolete or are they watered down versions? I just don't get Intel's numbering system anymore.
Also, how does the T7250 compare to the T7100 in benchmark results? Since they are the same upgrade cost, I think most people will automatically go for the higher number 7250, but is it really superior?

The bigger the number, the better the processor. You can check the CPU guide in the Hardware forum.
Vostro 1500 now has T7250 option
