    Hey guys,

    I just ordered a Dell Vostro 1500 directly off the Dell website. I've heard a lot about delays on Dell notebooks lately but I was wondering what the latest average time was from order date to delivery date.

    If I were you, I would call and make sure its actually in production. I ordered directly from the website too and it never actually went through. Also, my ship date was moved from before Christmas to after the New Years because they had to reorder it.

    I'm not sure what the time is because no two Dell reps have told me the same thing. Some say weeks before the quoted date and some say after the quoted date. I'm beginning to think these reps are as bad as Motorola's :mad:

    Since you ordered yours with Geforce 8600 256MB video card, it is more available than the 8400 128MB and therefore will arrive faster. There seem to be a little delay on the 8400 128MB.

    Well..you can always call in and ask about it. I just called to get my status again and they asked if it was a gift and I said yes. They gave me a $50 gift card and a $25 refund because of my trouble. :)
    And they did confirm the 8400gs is the reason for the delays..thats why they are offering the x3100 on the base model again.

    Just to give a general time frame, I ordered mine the 10th and it shipped today. With "Next Day Shipping" via DHL it will arrive the 18th. Just if anyone was wondering and hoping yours will be there before christmas, it should be.
