Now that there is a big enough sample size I'd like to know which screen people been ordering and what are their experiences.

The screens available as most people know are:
    WXGA 1280x800
    WXGA with True Life 1280x800
    WXGA+ with True Life 1440x900
    WSXGA+ with True Life 1680x1050

I personally ordered the WXGA with true life and I don't know if I should have it changed. The WXSGA would definitely be too small for my taste. I'm using the laptop for internet browsing and some MS office use. Have people experienced the grainyness issue with the Vostro 1500? Feedback would be appreciated.

what resolution are you currently using? on what screen size?

then try to figure out if you think it's good, 2 small, 2 big
and, if you really can't decide ... go to a store and try to compare :)
    i'll always go for the highest resolution (atm: 1900 x 1200 on a 15.4 inch ... in a few weeks 1900 x 1200 on a 17 inch)

My desktop at work is 17" with a resolution of 1024x768 and my desktop at home is also 17" set to a resolution of 1152x864 (I think). So with that said do you think that will translate well to a 1280x800 resolution on a 15" screen? Keep in mind that I'm also concerned with the mention of grainy screens on the WXGA+ display. How common is that and does it exist on the WXGA with true life screen?

if you like the current resolution, keep in mind that 1280 x 800 on a 15" will be smaller
personally, i don't think it will be a big problem ... you'll get used to it pretty fast :)

as for the grainy screens: i have no idea ... i don't have a new dell :p
