    A few questions:

What is the distance between the first of the machine and the start of the keyboard, eg. from the front to the bottom of the spacebar.

I am confused about the screen options, eg. the Wide Screen XGA LCD Display vs. the Wide Screen XGA+LCD Display w/TrueLife. Does this mean greater resolution or easier viewing? Eg. is TrueLife worth the extra $$$.

Does Dell charge a 15% restocking fee on a Vostro return? I wonder as I can not see one in a store so I am buying blind!

    Thanks

    TrueLife means glossy.

Technically, the restocking fee is there, but they almost never charge you for it.

You can go to Best Buy and look at an Inspiron and pretend it was black.

Also, "Wide Screen XGA" denotes 1280x800 resolution, while "Wide Screen XGA+" denotes 1440x900 resolution. You get more space on the screen to work with if you select the latter option.

At the time of my purchase, (4 months ago) it was for the first 21 days, which is dell's vostro guarantee satisfaction period, that Dell will not charge restocking fee and will do full refund if you decided to return the machine.

Like I said, the return policy is there in writing, but almost never charged.

The Dell site is unclear on the restock fee. I guess it can charge them if it is in a foul mood! Always good to be sure before the purchase.

Also, on "TrueLife means glossy", is this good or bad? I will use this PC for programming tasks and not movies, etc. Is it best to get "TrueLife"?

    Thanks

P.S. I wish the Dell stores carried these units.
