    Vostro 1700 Display Malfunction While Loading Vista

    I recently started using my new Vostro 1700 with the following configuration:

    Vostro 1700 WUXGA
    T7500 2.20GHz
    2GB RAM
    256MB NVIDIA GEFORCE 8600M GT
    Vista Business

    The first time I turned on the notebook and went through the Vista setup process, the screen flashed and became wavy and was displaying the wrong colours. The computer was also unresponsive. I restarted the computer by holding down the power button, and it seemed to work well for a while. A few days later, I turned on my laptop, and after typing in my password, I got the same wavy screen and unresponsive machine. Again, I restarted it and it worked well after that. This problem has occurred again, but it does not happen every time I turn on my notebook. I attached a picture that I took of my screen problem. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem would really be helpful.

    looks like a defective vcard too me... get Dell to replace it...

    Seems like other people are having the same problem. I'll call Dell today to see if I can get an exchange.
