    Hello All,

Just got my Vostro 1700 today. When I slide the lid latch open, the slider stays all the way to the right. Meaning: when I go to close it, it doesn't lock on its own unless I manually slide the switch back over to the left.

If I slide it back to the left before closing the lid, it will latch in place and lock okay but I was just wondering if it was supposed to be snapping back on its own.

Not a deal breaker but just curious what it's supposed to be like since this is my first Dell.

Should be spring-loaded, and return to the 'lock' position.

Call DeLL because that isn't normal. As Daytona said it's supposed to reset to the center because it's spring loaded.
