Since I purchased my Vostro 1700, the media button (next to on/off) has not worked. i.e. when I prees it nothing starts. I cannot find any configuration utility for it either. I have the Dell Media centre installed but still no joy. Is this likely to be a system fault?

Doe it work at power off? I had problem with the button not launching MediaDirect inside Windows after 2 weeks. Finally I use autohotkey to set up the button function again. Now it launch Windows Media Center in Vista but Media Direct at power off.

    Hello,

This is Richard from the Dell Online Community Outreach group. Try to uninstall the Dell QuickSet. To reinstall it, go here for the download. I hope this corrects the issue you are experiencing.
