Just wanted to drop a quick note as I haven't seen any posts from Vostro 1700 users who forcefed XP to their laptop yet. I used XP SP2 with the ICH8 driver slipstreamed in (made with nLite). Took a while to sort out all the right drivers but it's running with no ?'s in device manager now. I'm hoping to use this beast for a DAW, got my new Focusrite Saffire Pro/26 at home and I should get to test it out a bit tonight. I have high hopes the Ricoh FW chip will not rain on my parade (Dell lied and told me it had a TI FW chip).

I'll post an update when I know if it works. Anyone have any questions or want me to test anything on it?

I'd like to know some details about which drivers you've used exactly and where you've found them. Also, did you follow one of the guides which are posted here in the forum? Thnx!
