Ok, I've had my Vostro 1700 for about a week now and it won't stay on for more than 10 seconds. It worked fine for a few days and now won't even boot into windows. I've called Dell tech support and they have no clue (they are sending me a box to mail it to a depot).

Any idea on what the problem is?

Really don't trust Dell to really fix it after I mail it in (add to this my 21 day return time will probably expire).

BTW, I loved it while it worked :)

Are you getting any errors or beeps? What about the temperature ? Does it become very hot (can you hear the FAN working)?

    No beeps.

The hottest it ever got was 49C on the CPU. It's been off for a few days and when I attempt to turn it on it still cold for that 10 seconds.

Edit: well I get one low single beep before it shuts down.
