    What chip set you run could keep it from running, my cheap HP G6 had a i3 which did not use a H65 chipset to use 2nd Gen i5 and i7. Had to upgrade my mother board to use 2nd Gen processors. Found out an unsupported quad i7 at 45w, ran smoothly, when no other references showed I could run anything rated higher than 35w.

    I don't see why a X9000 won't work, it's got the GM965 chipset right?
