Grat's on the arrival of your new lappy :)

Now you get to enjoy it 3 days sooner!

Usually the ESD is overestimated..it helps to protect Dell from any delays during production (part shortages/back orders, etc).

Must be shipping 1720s fast. With the wife's 1720 stolen, I ordered a new one on 17th and it arrived on the 25th. This was not a 'fast ship' config, it was customized. Was not supposed to ship until the 8th of March.

Quite happy. Be happier if my E6400 would show up early too! ;)

The wife's 1720 went 'In production' on the 18th, and shipped on the 24th (from Calif. so it only took 1 day to arrive).

My E6400 has taken a bit longer. Ordered on the 18th in production the same day, shipped on 3/3 (from TN). Wasn't supposed to ship until the 8th, so that makes me happy.

Hm.. didn't realize they show up with that status until they are dispatched, the automated phone service said its "being assembled", but its an outlet laptop so that was strange.

(i love the automated phone voice, its so nice)

That is strange. I've ordered outlet laptops twice and they shipped blazing fast (next day both times if I remember correctly). I mean they don't really require anything, they're already built.

I didn't even get my 'Your order has shipped' email notification on one of them. The laptop arrived before the email! The 'new' builds can take quite a bit longer, particularly if you really want that item that says "selecting this option may delay your order until Hell Freezes Over..." ;)
