On my Vostro's OS partition 14GB of HD space is used up, but when I highlight every folder(including hidden ones) and check the folder size with property they only total up to a little under 10GB. Where the hell did the other 4 GB go?

Maybe you're missing a folder or something.

Hibernation file & swap file don't show up. Since you have 2GB of RAM, your hibernation file will be 2GB. Swap file is usually around 2GB as well if left to Windows to manage. Space (a LOT of space - up to 15% of total drive space) can also be taken up by System Restore/Shadow Copy.
