I'm waiting to get my 1500 and I have read online that the thing can get up to 5 hours of battery life, which is twice what I get with my current one on a good day. Mine has the 8600GT in it and I upgrading to a slightly faster 1.6GHz Intel duel core from the stock 1.4. I'll be happy if I get 3 hours on average.

With my 9 cell, I average about 5 hours running standard office applications, with lcd set to max brightness and wi-fi off. With wi-fi on and running office apps it drops to about 4 hours. Playing video games, obviously makes a big impact on battery life, I average about 2.5 to 3 hours.
