I'm just curious if anyone in Europe has gotten futher than preproduction on their Vostros.
-
I think not.
I ordered mine in 18/07, but still in preproduction. Shipping date is 03/08.
I hope they carry out.
My Vostro is like yours, only with 160Gb (7200rpm). -
It looks like pretty much ever one who orderd it in Europe is still in preproduction. Its strange...
-
Mine is still in pre-production also. Like I said in the other thread, my Inspiron went from pre-production to being shipped in one day, so its pretty useless really
I am just hoping mine doesn't come next week, because I am on holiday! -
I hope it won't delay...
Vostro was on sale few days ago, but no one (only a chinese) have it. Can't they make only one Vostro? I don't understand...
It can't be backordered, because they only make one Vostro in all world... ---> Now 2 Vostros in all world. -
Eventough my delivery date is set to the 10th of august it just annoys me everytime I check the trackingsite. Just reading about how long it takes with production, testing and boxing for peolpe in the US.
BTW I just sent an e-mail to the dell customer service in Norway and asked if there were any delayes or problems with my order. -
Americans get their computers from the Malaysian dell factory, and the chinese get it from the factory in Xiamen, China while europe gets it from the factory in Limerick, Ireland. So it looks like there are a lack of supplies or something in the irealand factory.
-
Europe allways the last ones...
-
-
Omg. Today my Vostro has been delayed to 28/08... Why?
-
Has anyone had any problems with Dell drawing your money from your bank account? Everything has went fine with my order until today, when all my money went back to my account.
-
I ordered mine yesterday, they said the delivery date is 22/08
-
When they shipping your Vostro, they cash the money.
-
I ordered mine yesterday and the shipping date is 03/09/2007
-
I'm glad mine is still:
"Estimate deliverydate (on or before this date): 10 August 2007"
(From my trackingsite) -
Haha, check this out (from uncyclopedia.org):
"Dell is a company founded in 1884 after some bored farmer created a machine to help The Farmer in the Dell. They currently make personal computers that explode randomly, making it a terrorist's choice of bomb.
Purchasing from Dell may result in broken products, bad customer service, dropped service calls, worthless warantees, and Pakastani people whom speak broken English whilst refusing to solve your problem without threatening their jobs. Dell Laptops may spontaneously combust and burn your testicles while you are viewing porn."

mine is delayed i ordered it 2 days after the appeared on the website i think.
First it was 12 jul the pre-prod date and delivery was 1-aug.
Now it is 27 as pre-prod and delivery at 24-aug
that is for the vostro 1700
a co-worker of mine who ordered the m1330 before me is even more unlucky.
Ordered 6 jul, first del at 2 aug and now it is 10 september -
DAMNIT!! They delayed mine!
Estimated delivery date - 1st august
Revised delivery date - 24th august
****... i need a new hobby or something to keep myself amused. -
-
Just got the dreaded delay email now as well - purchasing 4 Vostros for a business (3 laptop and 1 desktop) - original delivery date was 31st July (they maintained all week that they'd meet it) - revised delivery date 25th August!!!
I also have XPS M1330 on order - that'll probably be delayed till sometime mid next year at this rate!!!
Not impressed ... -
I just thought that this was funny, im sorry you didnt see the humor in it. -
I also think its pretty bad how some customers are promised a dealine for their computers to be shipped and it gets push back over a month. A couple of days would be fine, but a month, come on!
Im just hoping this dosent happen to me, though i am afraid it will. -
i think the whole of ireland is on vacation for 2 months...
The factory is just closed. -
Hmmhhh... haven't found any European site offering the 7200 rpm option. Explain! -
-
My Vostro 1500 is not delayed yet anyway, delivery is set to 14/8.
-
-
Any more news?
Curiously my pre-production date changed on Sunday from the 23rd to 29th... I am not sure if its a good or bad signStill on pre-production by the way.
-
I wanna kill.
-
No more news here. Im still in pre-pro.
Its also still set to be delivered the 10th of August. -
If there's a delay, push them for some money off saying you're not happy. Worth a bash.
-
In the same situation, Ordered on the 17th July - estiamted at 1st August and now pushed back to the 28th august.. Have emailed contacts within Dell to get some money off or something to be done about it. Apparently I am on a priority list but we will see...
-
Ok, I have got mine guaranteed for Next Week delivery - I have my rep saying so and an email to prove it. I have sent one back stating whether I could get it down for end of this week but hwo knows.
-
So you get yours next week? Whats the current status on it?
-
Pre-Production as of 28/07/2007
Order Date: 18/07/2007
Estimated Delivery Date (on or before this date): 24/08/2007 -
Mine is:
In pre-produtcion still, and has been since i orderd it.
Order Date: 22/07/2007
Estimated Delivery Date (on or before this date): 10/08/2007
I also hope i will get it this or next week. -
Is this for a 1500? It seems that any other Vostros are unaffected.
-
Yes, 1500... And all Vostros are affected in Europe. Not in the US or Asia. Sadly
-
I know alot of people who have received their Vostro 1000's and 1400's - even people who ordered under a week before they were delivered...
It also looks like a lot of Vostros are effected in the States also -
Its something about that they dont have enough glass for the screens...
Thats at least what i was told by dell twice. -
Just found this on another forum regarding the Vostro 1000:
It seems the more you spend, the more you waitSomebody I know has paid over £1000 for an M1330 and that is massively delayed, but it seems Dell have no problems turning over the cheapy £300 laptops.
-
hmmm.... i paid $ 1,888.87*, so I guess i'll have to wait a while!
*Mind you this is converted from NOK to USD, and as of todays currency the NOK is much stronger than USD, making the price in NOK not as bad as it seems in USD. -
phoned customer services and managed to get £50 off the price easily.
Go ahead and try it -
Hm, I've got no compensation for delay and for confusion about GDDR3 and DDR2...
Seems that 8600M GT are backordered... -
Anyone of you European Vostro costumers seen change in you statues, yet?
I got my hopes up when I saw that there were people who orderd the XP1310 that were moved over to production today, in europe. -
I've just had to cancel my Vostro 1500 order and re-submit it as I wanted to add the Bluetooth module. Est Del Date now the 29th August
-
ah... what was your EDD before you canceled your order?
I already chose bluethooth, just thought it would be a usefull tool and it didnt cost that much extra. -
The dell rep told me the Bluetooth part was out of stock or something, so that would take up to 7 days extra. Might have not been such a good idea.
Anyway, still in pre stage here for a 1700 ;( -
Was orignally 23rd August, but I have ordered it on 27th July.
I decided to add the bluetooth as I found out there was a bluetooth light on case and didn't want it sat there doing nothing -
Either Dell's UK site is bust or you can't order Vostro Notebooks from the site anymore!
Vostro Europe!
